J Stringer & Sons is a family run farm based in East Yorkshire on top of the Yorkshire Wolds.  We are the third generation to farm from our home at High Callis Wold.  We have a strong connection to conservation and the environment and the daily challenge is to preserve and improve the farm's flora and fauna within a commercial and profitable environment.

There is evidence of settlement at High Callis dating back to the bronze age and at least part of the house dates back to the 1700's.  In more recent years the farm has gradually grown to what is now 1100 acres of arable and grazing land.  The business is diverse and includes organic produce,as well as crop production. We started to convert to organic in 1999, today we farm cereals, oilseed rape, beans, beef and lamb organically. We have been taking interest in the growing regenerative agriculture movement and Mike is experimenting with these techniques on both organic and conventional land. In addition to all this Mike is involved in Uncleby Education Centre, providing a link to agriculture and the countryside for school children.
